13:45 – 15:15 Outreach and Impact Strategies for Documentaries
This presentation will introduce tools and methods for filmmakers to define the outreach strategies and impact goals for their films. Through this filmmakers will learn to be inventive in audience engagement and to raise awareness in the society about the issues tackled in their documentaries. Based on several case studies, Ove Rishøj Jensen will demonstrate how to enlarge audiences for your film setting concrete goals for the film’s impact campaign, defining target groups and ways to reach them, as well as how to in the reality work on the impact strategies within the staff & budgetary limits of a film project.

15:45 – 17:30 Distribution Challenges in a Saturated Documentary Market
Even though documentary content is getting more & more popular, it is difficult to successfully find your way into the diverse and competitive marketplace. Based on several case studies, Aleksandar Govedarica in conversation with producer Gints Grūbe (Mistrus Media, Latvia) will give some tips on how to work with the sales agents, as well as share some insider’s knowledge on how to successfully bring documentary films to the public today, focusing on the newly emerging models of distribution.
